Nezha Hayat joined Société Générale in Casablanca in 1995 as part of the stock market restructuring and was the first woman to join the board of a bank in Morocco in 1996.
Today as the main board director Hayat has a responsibility for the private and institutional management core business. During the early years of her career Hayat worked on capital markets for several banks in Spain before moving back to her home country. She joined BNP Paribas to establish an offshore branch in Tangiers and was then hired by SGMB to set up Socbourse, the bank’s brokerage house in Morocco.
Hayat is multilingual in Arabic, French, English and Spanish, and is a founding member and vice-chair of the Moroccan Association of Female Company Senior Executives.title
