Lubna Olayan (SAUDI ARABIA)
Lubna Suliman Olayan (born August 4, 1955) is a Saudi businesswoman. Born to SulaimanOlayan and Maryam bintJassim Al Abdulwahab, Olayan was listed as one of the top 100 most influential people of 2005 by Time magazine and continued to be on the Forbes list of most powerful women till 2011 and returned to the list in 2014. In 2004, Olayan was the first woman in Saudi history to deliver an opening keynote address at a major conference in Saudi Arabia; at the Jeddah Economic Forum. As of 2014, she was listed as the 86th most powerful woman in the world by Forbes.
She is working to bring other Saudi Arab women into powerful positions as well. Currently, she is serving as the CEO of Olayan Financing Company, and she oversees operations of many more international firms as well. In addition to her business operations, she is functional in empowering communities and supporting non-governmental organizations too across the globe.
Lubna was born in 1955 in Saudi Arabia. Her mother was Mary P. Olayan, and father was Suliman Olayan, who himself was a powerful business leader and the founder of the Olayan Group. She holds bachelor’s degree in Agriculture from the Cornell University, and an MBA from Indiana University. She values education and has been honored by a number of educational institutions as well.
