Often considered CNN’s face in the Arab world, Hala Gorani is an anchor and correspondent for the 24-hour news channel.
She has covered major news events in the Middle East, including the recent Egypt protests and has reported from every country in the region, including Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Jordan and the Palestinian territories.
Born in Seattle, Washington to Syrian parents, Gorani’s childhood included growing up in Paris, France, as well as some time in Algeria. She graduated from George Mason University with a Bachelor of Science in Economics before graduating from the renowned Institut d’Études Politiques de Paris.
Formerly the host of Inside the Middle East, Gorani now anchors CNN’s International Desk and has interviewed guests ranging from Tony Blair to Rafik Hariri to Nouri al Maliki.title
